What to pack for a Glamping Holiday

You have booked your Glamping in Ireland holiday with us at Legan Castle Farmhouse, now you are counting down the days to your arrival and eager to get organised for your stay!

When preparing for your Glamping holiday stay with us, you are wondering what you might need to pack? At our luxury Glamping site, we want you to enjoy the experience of camping but without all the work and expense.

When Glamping with us, you won’t need to pack much in comparison with most other Glamping sites or a traditional camping trip.

When we give our guests a tour of a site on their arrival, they often gasp …”Wow!!....you really have thought of everything!”.  We really do try our best to take all the hard work, hassle and added expense out of “camping”, so that you can just relax and make the most of this luxury Glamping experience.

Glamping Equipment

When Glamping in Kilkenny, at Legan Castle Farmhouse, your tent is pitched to perfection; no struggling to wedge all the equipment into the car with impatient children, no fighting with a ground sheet and poles in the wind, guy ropes or pegs!

Our stunning Glamping tents are properly floored; our Safari Tents have raised timber flooring and rugs, and our Bell Tents fully carpeted, not a plastic ground sheet in sight!

To embrace the novelty of camping, our tents don’t have electricity. They are decorated with solar festoon lights, LED Hurricane Lanterns and candles, additional torches are available. Our communal areas and walkways have been designed with walk through sensor LED lighting.

Our site is perfect for the viewing the night sky, without light pollution stealing the beauty of the night stars. We recommend downloading the SkyView app to help you read the and stars above!

Glamping Bedding

Our luxury Glamping tents, are designed with comfort in mind. We have proper beds, with deep mattresses….no blow-up mattresses and sore joints! Our beds are made with deep toppers, duck down duvets and pillows, and dressed with crisp white hotel style bed linen! We provide extra blankets and hot water bottles for those who like to be extra toasty!

So, we have EVERYTHING that you will need for a comfortable night’s sleep!

Glamping Essentials

Part of the fun of Glamping, is cooking, eating and relaxing around your Glamping tent, in the evening time or even all day long!

Our tents are equipped with outdoor furniture, tables and chairs, private Weber charcoal BBQ, and firepit, we have lump wood charcoal, firewood, and firelighter kits to purchase on site, or you are welcome to provide your own if you wish. Children love foraging along the hedgerows for kindling to get the fire started to toast marshmallows in the evening, we also have an unlimited supply of marshmallows!

For those Pizza lovers, we have a communal Ooni Pizza Oven for your use!

Our well-appointed Glamping Kitchen is set up, we have everything considered so you don’t have to!

OUR Glamping Kitchen is FULLY equipped with;

• Designated fridge space; complimentary San Pellegrino and Acqua Panna mineral water
• Coffee Machine
• Kettle
• Toaster
• Microwave
• Induction hob

Our Glamping kitchen is well stocked with glassware; jugs, tumblers and wine glasses, crockery; plates, bowls, cups and saucers, cutlery, kitchen utensils, BBQ utensils…. There is absolutely no need to pack the kitchen sink!

Glamping Food

Part of the luxury of Glamping with us, is you don’t need to worry about food. Throughout the season, breakfast hampers, grazing boxes and BBQ hampers can be ordered ahead of your stay! Our Glampers Café is open and serving breakfast from the 10th June right through to the 15th of September. You can find out more about our wonderful food here. 

Our Glampers Kitchen is stocked with tea, coffee, milk… other cupboard essentials, herbs, spices and condiments.

If your preference is to self-cater, we are within close proximity to local shops, there is a gorgeous farmers’ market on the parade in Kilkenny on Thursdays, or for a lazy Sunday check out Mountain Views farmers’ market.

Thomastown and Kilkenny also host many restaurants, from casual dining to fine dining in award winning Michelin Star. You can see some of our recommendations here. 

Entertainment and Games

Before guests arrive, sometimes parents are concerned whether their children will be “bored?” …. Absolutely not! There is nothing more wholesome than watching children embracing nature, the countryside and enjoying time with family. Children enjoying play, the “old fashioned way”, hide and seek, tag, and who remembers 40 40 home?! You will be amazed how beneficial it is to spend time away from technology. 

We encourage guests who have a sense of adventure and play.  There are so many local activities, things to do and explore!

Whilst we really do encourage you to try to disconnect.  We know it’s not always possible, you may want to pack;

Toiletries

Our stunning hi-spec Glamping Bathrooms, are beautifully appointed, we have a disability access wet room, and our large power showers have hot water 24/7 and access throughout the day and night.

We provide fluffy towels and matts daily!

We take great pride in our beautiful Glamping Bathrooms, which are just as impressive as any hotel stay. They are stocked with gorgeous products from The Handmade Soap Co. with their ANAM Coriander Seed, Geranium and Vetiver Wash and Lotion, leaving you feeling perfectly pampered!

We have hairdryers (freeing up suitcase space), other essential toiletries and emergency sanitary products, first aid kits…so we’ve got you covered should you have forgotten to pack anything!
