This romantic stone cottage escape with a private hot tub, set on the historic grounds of Legan Castle Farmhouse, blending Irish heritage with modern comfort. The cottage sits within the grounds of Legan Castle Farmhouse, beneath the ruins of Legan Castle, a historic Irish tower house dating back to the 15th–16th century. These castles were once built as fortified homes for local families and played an important role in protecting the surrounding lands during Ireland’s medieval period. 

Today, the castle ruins remain a striking reminder of the area’s past, while the surrounding farm buildings — including this restored stone cottage — reflect generations of rural life that have shaped the landscape. Staying here offers a chance to experience the quiet beauty of the Irish countryside in a setting steeped in history.

Guests will have private and exclusive access to the entire cottage, ensuring a peaceful and uninterrupted stay. The cottage has its own private entrance, allowing you to come and go with complete privacy. Secure gated parking is available on-site for your convenience. You will be given time slots to book a 2 hour complimentary session in the wood-fired hot tub, where you can relax and unwind while enjoying the tranquillity of the surrounding countryside.

The cottage is located within the grounds of Legan Castle and Legan Castle Farmhouse, giving guests the opportunity to experience the unique atmosphere of this historic rural setting while still enjoying their own private space. Self check-in allows for flexible arrival, making it easy to settle in at your own pace.

We like to give guests complete privacy to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings, but we are always available if you need anything during your stay.We live nearby on the grounds of Legan Castle Farmhouse and are happy to help with local recommendations, directions, or anything that will make your stay more enjoyable.

Wood-Fired Hot Tub

Your stay includes one private wood-fired hot tub session, with firewood provided to keep the tub warm for up to two hours — perfect for relaxing under the stars.To ensure each guest enjoys a private and uninterrupted experience, hot tub sessions must be reserved in advance.

We require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice before arrival to prepare the tub.If we are available on-site, we are happy to light and prepare the hot tub for you. Otherwise, clear instructions will be provided on how to heat and safely use it. Additional hot tub sessions can be arranged for an extra fee, subject to availability. For cleanliness and safety, the hot tub is inspected after every use.

Please note that the hot tub may be unavailable during sub-zero temperatures to protect the system.
